   I dubbed this vac/mop Dobby during set-up. I was a little bit scared to replace my senile Roomba Steve, but he was getting old, getting lost, losing parts while cleaning, and trying to catch the house on fire so it was time to find a suitable replacement. My first impression was that the mapping feature needs some updating. I know the layout of my house and when I mark the carpet zones or no go zones, Dobby still goes where I thought the rugs should be. It is a little complicated to get those set up and I have not quite figured them out yet. In the meantime the little guy is just mopping the carpets to his hearts content. I also have a very thick but fine threaded shag rug in my library and even though I have it marked as a no go, he keeps getting his brush caught in the rug and asking for help. I’m not even mad about it- it’s actually pretty impressive that he can climb onto it as Steve the Roomba could not. I do wish they had the no pass barriers that the Roombas come with as the mapping just isn’t easy to decipher. Next, the noise level is actually pretty impressive. Even when on max clean, you can hardly hear it. Steve was crazy loud and you could hear him through the house. You can leave the room and won’t hear a thing. I had to check the bin because I didn’t think it was actually doing anything because it was so quiet and to my surprise there was actually debris in there. I have a large dog with short hair that sheds like crazy and a preteen who loves making messes so there is always something to clean up. Dobby can find his dock and will back up with precision to dump his load off before resuming cleaning and when he needs to charge. Steve, which may have been due to his age, would have to adjust himself a million times to line himself up with his charger if he didn’t just die in the house somewhere random. Another impressive mention is that this robot can navigate through the bottom of the bar chairs and around the kitchen chairs with ease. When ole Steve was cleaning I had to move all of the chairs out because he just could not get around the bottom of them so hair would collect under them if I didn’t. Dobby will avoid objects without touching them, including the dog so I’m not worried about him knocking into things. One thing the Roomba could do but the Shark could not was get under the couch. This may be a blessing because while Steve could get to the dust bunnies, he would constantly get stuck under there or rip off his edges while shuffling around. I won’t have to worry about that with Dobby since he is taller, but it means I will have to manually vacuum under there more often. I would say that Dobby is not as good as Steve when it comes to cleaning the carpets. The Roomba had to carpet boost that would kick on when it went from hard floors to carpet and it definitely makes a difference those rooms. It does work, but it left some strings and some dog toy fluff behind. So it isn’t as deep of a clean as I was expecting in the carpeted rooms. Steve would leave those satisfying perfect lines in the carpets and I would know that he had been in there. After Dobby does his rounds those lines are not evident. The comparison on hard floors is evenly matched though. The final impression is that for the price point on these it seems to be a great little vac. I am pleased with the sound level, the collection bin showing proof that Dobby was doing his job, his ability to find the dock, the runtimes are great, and the object navigation ability. My only con would be the mapping and no go zones needing some updating.

   I have had this shark vac with mop for a few months now & I Love it!!! I highly recommend this to anyone I like (as for everyone else- don’t buy it it’s just too pricey lol & you suck so clean your own floors) jk. This thing is worth every cent I paid for it and i actually got it for a huge discount during a Black Friday sale cause I’m a “cheap S” lol We have 2 cats and 2 dogs indoors all the time and we had plenty of tumbleweeds up under the edge of our cabinets and around the baseboards most of the time because let’s face it, I’m NOT SUSIE HOMEMAKER! Lol NOW THEIR ALL GONE THANKS TO “baby Shark DooDoo” as I call it 😂. It’s like having a secret maid service for super cheap!! I program this to clean every other day and it keeps my new LVP Looking Spectacular!! It’s one amazing piece of equipment I never knew I would love sooo much!!! Do yourself a favor and Love yourself by getting one ASAP!! You can thank me later 😂🥰🥰🥰🥰

   Estoy fascinado con mi Shark es muy buena en aspirar piso y alfombras, al momento de ponerlo en modo trapeado hace doble trabajo aspira y trapea deja los pisos muy limpios con la trapeadora. Es muy importante quitar obstáculos grandes para que haga bien su trabajo…. Ahora lo malo es que soy de México y no existe aplicación para poder controlar desde un dispositivo móvil. Hago llamado importante eh urgente al vendedor que liberen alguna aplicación para uso en México. Es muy buena la Shark como para no poderla usar con aplicaciones.

   So my first robot vacuum was an original iRobot Roomba many years ago prior to this auto-dump tech. I loved that thing and it still works to this day, however obviously its nearly daily use maintenance was too much for me to do each time. FFWD to now: I live alone with a boxer dog and am gone to work each day so my home’s floor was just too much for me to be able to maintain. I decided to invest in a new tech auto-dump technology robotic vac, which would be perfect. Nutshell: after much research and my great experience with iRobot, I decided to order up their latest and greatest, and at “greatest” cost. Supply chain issues delayed delivery for a month, okay, got that. After a month, emailed company just to simply get an update. Did this four or so times over the following month. I received zero, absolutely zero responses, to my utter surprise. Placed two phone calls in to their customer service, and each time after on hold for 45 minutes, I gave up. I was willing to wait – but…. Their product originated in development from the USA, by higher ed students originally afterall. Wellll, suffice it to say I experienced the outsourcing effects of their company. To cancel, I ended up having to go to the lengths of changing my credit card number, updating auto-charges from other providers on that account and it was THEN that I FINALLY heard back from iRobot. Who would want to invest $1300 in a device with zero company customer service response after 4-6 or so tries? Not me. So saddened to see yet another great company to sail off our lands. So I decided to give Shark a try at half the price-I have some of their appliances which have been great. First delivery didn’t go well, and that’s because I didn’t pay attention to the exact model AND the seller. It arrived, I set it up, and the battery would not take a charge. Turns out it was a “previous” model – obviously had sat on some shelf for who knows how long. Returned, and vacuum-sale.com covered my back on this. More research showed me that that unit wasn’t the current model. I decided to order this one which at this time is the CURRENT model, and sold THROUGH vacuum-sale.com, fully returnable. I can not say enough about this little critter! It’s just amazing! This robot vac has made a huge difference to my home. I don’t really understand the other reviews’ complaints about it’s vacumming “noise” be it while operating or on its base in sucking out the bin. It’s absolutely no louder than my wired Dyson unit while “sounding like an airplane taking off,” for all of less than 10 seconds. To me, the freegin louder it is, the better it’s cleaning out the robot! I launched it without even preemptively vacuuming my home- it worked hard and it took a few good cleaning out’s to get it more leveled out and that’s on me. I made a few changes to my home physically and reset its map by deleting the map (put my couch up on hockey pucks for access-it’s about 3.5″ tall). It’s now re-learning my home and doing a fantastic job after several runs! I can add “high traffic ‘rooms’ ” or areas layed over the top of overall rooms. Contrary to other reviews I’ve read, probably earlier ones, you can add rooms and name them to your use- I’ve overlayed “rooms” over larger “rooms.” I love this thing! I can’t believe it’s only been a month of use – I’ve used the crap out of this thing. No issues and very adaptable. The only thing I look forward to is to be able to program more than one program. You can currently program one session- per day, per week, every each day of your choice, but of your selection of rooms identified including all of the rooms. Can’t do an additional sub program of, say, “high traffic areas,” which I’ve added as additional “rooms.” I’ve read that is coming in future software updates. iOS WiFi connectivity is great. Map views when swiping give you more than one historical map of effected coverage. At half the price, “customer service” response remains to be seen (I’ve not had to), I would recommend this unit. Just make sure you look at current models, and not the older very similar looking models. As with any robotic vac, I’d recommend a home, or shop-use air compressor with regulated output to soften as needed for blowing out all as needed. I also found some great video reviews online that taught me a lot about this model line- very similar responses. By design, one can tell older vs newer units simply by how its dump cannister is designed. The map image I am attaching is one of its first runs of learning, and you can see it did a really good job of coverage for its first attempt. Smaller home in my case but numerous areas-after which I edited rooms, areas and overlayed high traffic areas as additional rooms for double-cleaning. It’s been great once my home floor condistions leveled out and the robot can easily cover all areas. Not hard at all- give it a whirl! Hope this helps some. r-

   It’s a great vacuum/floor cleaner. Does exactly what’s it’s supposed to do and does it well. The app, however, is a real waste of time. It’s annoying having to always sign in, and super annoying navigating it. I don’t need that much organization in my life. Appliances really don’t need apps! What’s next? A push broom with an app?? Would give it a 5 star if the app was easy to use, but it’s just not. Not time saving, not logical and certainly not practical. It’s just not. What I do think is exceptional on this machine is, the ‘non tangle’ brush and that the machine stops if it picks up something that will damage it. In question was a ‘tack’ it picked up and it shut down immediately. Love this feature. As for the floor cleaning option, it washes well, but I hate to clean any machine, so I will just use it for vacuuming as the dust bin is so easy to empty, and cleaning the washing liquid out of the washing component is not my kind of fun. Worth the $$ to me, but I should have got the model that just vacuums, and saved a few bucks.
