   This is a great little machine. Plenty of power and quiet and very light. . This vacuum is perfect if you have mainly hardwood floors and a few rugs. If you have mainly carpets you will need to upgrade the head which is expensive. I Iike the fact the vacuum has a 10year warranty. It shows that Sebba stand behind their engineering!

   I’ve been searching for a vacuum that is designed for hardwood floors and this Sebo is it. The nozzle glides easily over the floor yet has great suction which you can adjust with a touch of your foot. The power cord is 50 feet long so you can do a large area without having to unplug and replug. The canister is light enough to follow you around without a problem and the motor is very quiet. It was very easy to assemble. You almost don’t need the directions.
   We do have a few large area rugs that are hand knotted and somewhat delicate and rather expensive. They certainly cannot stand up to the upright vacuum I used to have which started to destroy the knotted design. This Sebo is gentle on my hand knotted rugs and doesn’t damage the various heights of the knots yet cleans quite nicely.
   Overall, I am quite pleased with my Sebo and the bonus is that the price is reasonable and you get excellent German workmanship to boot!

   The description of this vacuum says it is recommended for “Hard Floor.” All it does on hard floors and the carpet is move around dust or debris rather than sucking it into the vacuum. (I used a brand new filter., which as others have noted, is not cheap.) The dust, hair, etc. that collects on the brushes on the floor setting are virtually impossible to remove from the brushes. The carpet setting simply shoves around dust bunnies, etc. I end up picking up debris by hand and feeding it into the vacuum. I am so frustrated that I will no longer use the Sebo 9679AM Airbelt K2 Kombi Canister Vacuum. What a waste of money!!
   On the positive side, I like how quiet it is.

   The vacuum suction is great and it did a great job on carpets. It is light weight and easy to transport up stairs. It is super quiet and the bag does a great job keeping the air clean.
   The Kombi floor nozzle provided is not the same as the one on the listing picture though. This Kombi nozzle scraps against hardwood floors no matter what mode the lever is placed in. I would not recommend this floor tool. I contacted both the seller and Sebo directly. Both told me that I am better off purchasing a Parquet tool for hardwood floors.

   Whenever I am asked to recommend a compact bagged canister vacuum, I usually recommend Miele or SEBO dependent on the buyer’s needs. I wouldn’t recommend any other brand from Europe. SEBO may only have been making vacuums since 1978, but they are not a flashy company who keep releasing new models every couple of months and they don’t sell anything else other than vacuum cleaners and vacuum cleaner parts and consumables. This model, the K series was released in 2002 and one of the vacuums I own dates from 2008, of which was only replaced last year with another SEBO K series vacuum for use in the other part of my home. Put simply, I love the brand and it all stemmed from my late parents who owned a SEBO X1 Automatic (also sold in the U.S under the “Windsor” label.) which is now in its 20th year and now stays with another relative! The K2 Kombi canister vacuum is far better built than the Miele S6 series in my opinion. There are no bendy bin lids here and only one external tool such as the dusting brush clamps on the main suction tube of this SEBO compared to the three cleaning tools with Miele that sit on an external tool holder, where I have always found some of the tools to pop off when the vacuum is being used. Oh yes, I did own a Miele S6, but in my opinion it lacks the added quality of plastics and build quality edge that its predecessor, the S4000/S4 range offered. With SEBO, everything is closer to hand and less of a compromise to the owner in my experience. The suction tubes are composed of a top sheath plastic with a light metal telescopic height adjustable bottom tube that weighs less than 1.1lbs. As standard the K2 Kombi comes with a suction only floor tool that can clean both carpet of top pile dirt and hard floors. The Kombi floor head is intentionally double jointed – it allows the owner to clean flat to the floor without turning the hand painfully left or right to ensure the floor head stays flat to the floor. If you have pets or carpets however, a turbo brush can be purchased from SEBO (product code 6780ER) that will pick up pet hair and carpet dirt that suction only floor tools fail to do first time. Like Miele, the hose to the tube to the main floor heads all lock on with press release buttons. Cleaning tools consist of a long crevice tool that is quiet in use and a slide on upholstery brush tool with twin lint picker strips. The power all the while from this vacuum is strong, not noisy and electronically controllable via the simple twist to turn control that also acts as the power on/off button when pushed. There’s even a permanent gouge in the plastic on top of the SEBO K2 that shows how to increase the power = no painted transfers here on the body that will rub off in later years. A nicer touch is an LED bag light that indicates if there is a blockage or if the dust bag is full. And that Airbelt does more than just protect the skirting boards in my home – it acts as the main exhaust for the vacuum, which unlike Miele means you won’t breathe in the vacuum exhaust air when bending down to change the suction setting. Compared to the MIele S6 though, I find the SEBO K2 Kombi to be just far easier to manage and built around far more durable plastics. I didn’t expect my old K to last for SEVEN years, but even its old Airbelt bumper still looks good and blemishes can be wiped off. A tiny nick of Lycra material is missing but it doesn’t impede performance or affect the air vents built into the filter. Airbelt replacements are available, so there are no worries where its bumper is concerned- SEBO’s build and durability are excellent in my opinion! Miele’s problem is that they fit too high telescopic tubes that are heavier than the SEBO tubes and fit lighter plastics to the bent handle. With SEBO you get a proper handle like an upright vacuum. I only need to use a pinch of my fingers to guide the handle and tubes with floor head along. If you want to use low power to clean soft furnishings, you won’t find an air slider on the handle – SEBO fit their vacuums with sealed suction and the K2 is no exception. The suction control takes care of providing slow, gentle suction for delicate tasks, all the while the plastic-metal telescopic tubes provide lighter pushing and lifting where cleaning above the floor line is required. No contest to Miele’s heavier suction tubes! When it comes to general use, the SEBO K2 also ticks the boxes for reach. The long power cord is 25 feet (19ft with Miele’s S6 series) on the SEBO and the hose is also LONGER than the Miele series at 7ft compared to Miele’s standard of 6ft 10. All the while the K rolls smoothly and easily due to three rubberised castors and able to achieve a 360 degree axis in the tightest of spaces. There is no pedal for the cord. Simply take out the plug from the power socket and tug on the cord strongly and then let it go – the power cord automatically rewinds back in after cleaning. Storage is excellent – the floor head just slides in centrally at the back of the vacuum whilst the hose can wrap around the body with the handle nestled in between the hose. The SEBO dust bag capacity is measured at 3 litres/0.79 U.S Gallons compared to Miele’s FJM bags at 3.5 litres/0.92 U.S Gallons. Yes the Miele wins on dust bag capacity but the red self seals that are designed to fold over the dust channel holes fail to close up properly in my experience. SEBO’s smaller dust bag comes with a cap that you manually push into the top fill dust channel which seals the dust up completely! The bags are easy to fit and easy to take out once you have mastered the simple design. The biggest value for money card isn’t just down to the overall design, quality and lightweight feel that the K2 exudes, but for the same cost price of just 4 Miele dust bags in a box, you get 8 dust bags for the SEBO that tend to last me a year and a half before I require to buy bags again. On average, I find ONE box can last up 2 years, which in my experience is incredible value. The same applies to the filters. There are two on this vacuum – a proper HEPA paper cartridge that emerges from the top under the SEBO nameplate and can only be ingeniously slid and locked in one way. The other filter is located underneath the main dust bag of the K2 at the back of the vacuum. In the UK where I reside, there are two options – a basic Hospital grade microfilter or an increased S-Class hospital grade filter which is better if you have pets. As far as I know in the U.S, a HEPA cartridge is also available. At the end of the day whilst Miele vacuums are well built, powerful, and often quiet, so are SEBO’s canister lines but with stronger, thicker PVC plastics. The difference is that SEBO offers a better engineered, well thought out vacuum designed to give the owner the least stress when it comes to cleaning the home. The K2 may not be the best looking and it may well have a retro appeal, but for a quiet, quality clean that doesn’t provide a defeaning noise with a light to carry/pull weight, the K2 is a quality vac fit for purpose.     So far I am pretty happy with this vacuum but it was missing the upholstery nozzle that it said was included. Finding a replacement nozzle is not easy!! It is also difficult to figure out what optional attachments will work on this model! Also, the Kombi nozzle that it comes with it scrapes across my tile floors so I have to use it on the carpet setting to avoid the scraping sound! Not great engendering for a high quality vacuum from Germany. Overall it’s better than any other vacuum I have had since I have never spent more than $150 on a vacuum before, I am seeing why higher quality is worth the price.
