   Okay, I’ll admit it — I’m a sucker for gadgets, especially ones that promise less sweeping, mopping, and general adulting. But the Roomba Combo with AutoWash Dock? This bad boy has completely leveled up our home game. Let’s start with the magic: it vacuums, mops, self-empties, self-washes the mop pads, AND dries them. You know what that means? I haven’t touched a broom or mop in weeks. I call him “Carl” — and Carl works harder than any teenager I’ve ever met. The spinning mop pads do a great job scrubbing up mystery spills (looking at you, spilled juice incident), and that pad-lift feature? Genius. No more mopping the rugs — thank you, Roomba gods. The LiDAR navigation is laser-precise. Carl maps the house like a champ, avoids the dog bowls, and doesn’t fall down the stairs. Plus, he talks to Alexa, so now I just shout “Start cleaning!” while sipping my coffee like a boss. Yes, it’s an investment — but for a robot that does more cleaning than I do? Worth. Every. Penny. My wife loves it, the dog tolerates it, and I get to brag about it to the neighbors. 10/10, would adopt another one. It may not be perfect, since it may need some adjustment on the mapping or cleaning due different rugs, but still 5 stars. — One Very Impressed Dad (and very clean floors)

   We’ve had robot vacuums for years and when our roborock quit a few months back, we started looking around for a replacement.

   Have wanted to try Roomba and support a US company and this new one looked interesting with the mop and vacuum options. We’ve never had a mopping one but figured we could use it with the addition of 2 new dogs.

   It’s great so far and quieter than my old vac. I like how large the water bin is as it looks like it’ll last a long time without refilling.

   Cleans far better too, picking up all of the sand the dogs track in from walks. Very pleased!!

   I’ll start with the positives. The ‘room learning’ is pretty quick and painless. The robot does a good job of not getting stuck on obstacles. It does a good job covering everything, working around chairs, desks… It leaves the floors pretty clean and picks up pet hair well (at least from hard floors). The battery life is plenty to do our first floor–probably a little more than 1500 square feet. So far, it’s not had any issues returning home. The app (and perhaps the cloud aspect) are pretty buggy and annoying so far… There are many occurrences when you get you get the forever spinning progress bar or a ‘try again later’ for no apparent reason. In general, this shouldn’t be an issue except when you are trying to set things up and make fine adjustments to zones. There doesn’t appear to be a way to edit the zones with a ‘track history’ on so it’s pretty much trial and error if you have carpeted areas. Though the robot is smart enough to pick up/turn off the mopping when it detects carpet/rugs. Other than that it has some other weird default behaviors. If you have carpeted zones, it will ‘mop’ first, return to base to ‘dry’ the pads, then come back for the vacuuming only areas. Seems like it should vacuum first? It would be nice if it could be controlled in a meaningful way without the app. The bot has 2 buttons. The ‘power’ button starts a cleaning cycle and the ‘home’ button pauses cleaning. I would be at 5 stars if the app were more user friendly for setup and/or there were ways to set off a cleaning cycle (in a meaningful way) on the bot itself (vacuum only, vacuum + mop, cancel cleaning & go home…). Being slave to a bad app might just be more work than sweeping & mopping.
