Dyson makes about the best vacuum cleaners. We had a similar model for 9 years but needed to replace it. This was after having bought a cheap vacuum every couple of years. It does a great job picking up cat hair plus ordinary household dirt, both on carpet and on hard flooring. For throw rugs, I appreciate that there is a way to decrease the suction a bit to keep the vacuum from eating the rug. The canister holds to do the whole (smallish) house in one go. The only thing that prevents receiving 5 stars is the fact that once the canister has been opened and emptied, it can be a little tricky to get it to properly latch again.

I’m a Dyson girl. Shark made 1 good vacuum about 20 years ago & it’s been downhill since.
When I moved I packed my Dyson & left the shark. Yes, I’m spoiled. Need a vacuum on each floor. I have pets & a baby. I’m not reaching far for clean up items.
So, this canister vac is amazing. All the suction you expect of Dyson with versatility of canister vac. My first floor is mainly flooring with an area rug & 1 room wtw carpet. I don’t sweep. This vac hasn’t been stopped by anything including a cat toy. Holds a lot & has the best system for emptying the canister. Glad I was able to get this thru vacuum-sale.com since it’s not sold in the US anymore

This is the third Dyson canister vacuum I have owned over the years (I’m VERY hard on them). They last for YEARS are easy to repair when something does go bad.
